| Juice
from Concentrate Juice
that has been boiled, so that the natural moisture
is evaporated, thereby reducing the juice to a concentrate
of below 20% of its original volume. This reduces
storage and transport cost. In the production process,
water is added to the concentrate in a ratio of 5:1,
to reconstitute the juice, prior to repasteurisation
and packing into cartons, bottles or cans.
This product has extended shelf
life, does not require temperature controlled storage,
and is predominantly sold as ambient. It is sometimes
marketed as chilled, to impersonate a single strength
juice (Not from Concentrate), to achieve premium pricing. |
